Old Woody is back under construction. Follow the progress as work resumes on the home brew 100th rig. As shown below, the transmitter is being built for AM operation on 3870 and will use the Harvey-Well Bandmaster as a driver. Ultimately, the rig will be using a series cathode modulation scheme with a predicted power output of around 150 watts.
I'll be posting updated photos as construction continues. As of Nov. 4, 2006, parts are being collected to build the power supply. The transformer comes from a home brew rig built in Prosser back in the 1930's. It puts out 3550 volts center tapped at 1.25 amps. The rack was handmade and many of the meters and the large tuning knobs came from the original transmitter as well.
